The Conclusion of "Too Close"

The Conclusion of "Too Close"

What a fun concluding chapter of the campaign!

The team found out that the temple contained a Jedi Holocron and that both the Empire and the criminal organization of The Black Sun were actively searching for it.

When things looked like they were not going to work out, a Jedi working for the Black Sun, aided the team, which allowed them to retrieve the Holocron and make their escape.

Meanwhile Dax and Jarvis were back at the city of Ferra and up to no good. With the help of Dacken Fel (a Rebel sympathizer) they were able to access the Imperial network and shut down all communications.

As the duo of Dax and Jarvis (and Dax's beloved 3PO unit) were preparing to leave they were attacked by the bounty hunter Teilo Zef, who had once mentored Anjax. Barely escaping Teilo, the two saboteur's raced to rescue their comrades at the temple.

Once the team was reunited, they made the jump to hyperspace, proud owners of the Jedi Holocron. The only problem is they do not know how to use it.

New Characters

Several new characters were introduced in the story of "Too Close," below is a brief description of these characters:

Dacken Fel: A human mercenary and smuggler. He has worked for both The Black Sun and the Rebel Alliance. Currently wanted by the Empire for smuggling weapons for the Rebel Alliance.

On'Tala: A Twi'Lek scientist who was studying the plant life on Masi and how it was related to the terrible electrical storms. Her sister is a Major in the Rebel Alliance: Ubis Loust

Kaal Dunos: A human Jedi-in-hiding working for The Black Sun. Kall fought the Inquisitor giving the Rebel team precious time to escape with the Holocron. It is unknown if he survived.

Inquisitor Veran Shan: Not much is know about the Inquisitor. He was tasked with retrieving the Jedi Holocron. He was last seen fighting against Kaal in the depths of the temple. It is unknown if he survived.

The Too Close Campaign

We are currently in the midst of playing the campaign called "Too Close". The story feels a bit more personal simply because some of the PC's past is coming back into the picture.

The opening crawl for Too Close:

The game started in a exciting fashion. The Defiant (a YT-2000 Light Freighter),  piloted by Anjax and aided by 2 X-Wings, fought its way through several tie fighters to reach the crash site. The problem was that the Empire was already there and they were attempting to kill the Colonel and capture the data on his ship.

After a firefight with some of the best Imperial Troopers, the Rebels were able to win the day and escape with the injured Colonel. Unfortunately, the Colonel died from his injuries in route to The Seeker, but before he died he whispered, “Ishtari-Molan” into the ear of one of the Rebel agents. The meaning of the phrase/name is unknown to the Rebellion and the PCs.

After decryption of the Colonel's personal datapad the Rebellion has discovered that the Empire has taken a interest in the planet Masi in the Morthra System. The Empire is either developing something or looking for something. The PC's job is to go find out what.

After arriving on the planet the PCs make it to the city of Ferra. There they discover that their contact, Dacken Fel is missing and no one has seen him. After investigating several locations the PCs have discovered that Dacken is in prison and was caught by none other than the bounty hunter Teilo Zef, Anjax's mentor.

The PCs discover that the Empire is in the jungles outside of Ferra and that On'Tala, a Twi'Lek scientist working on the fringes of the jungle, might have the answers.

In a series of events the PCs have discovered that there is a ancient temple deep in the jungle and that the Empire has sent some of their top agents there. Not only that, but the powerful criminal organization, The Black Sun, is also vying for possession of what lies deep inside the temple.

As the last session ended the PCs have split up. Jarvis and Dax are in the city of Ferra trying to gain access to the Imperial communications network, while the rest of the team has entered the temple and have begun their journey into the dark.

The next session will begin this week. People are not what they seem, loyalties are uncertain, and all the PCs have is each other. What awaits them in the dark?

The Story So Far...

The Story So Far...

As a gaming group we have completed 3 adventures/campaigns.

1.
We were introduced to Fantasy Flight's game system by playing their Beginner Game:

The mission was titled: The Capture of Whisper Base. Essentially the mission was to capture a Imperial listening station and use it for the Rebellion's needs.

If anything, the adventure seemed to hook us. We also learned just how hard it is to blow up a ATST...

2.
After the beginner game we made our own characters and started our first campaign called: The Perlemian Haul. The mission introduced us to some mystery and left lingering questions:

What was the deal with that room/hangar that the Defiant (a YT-2000 light freighter) was discovered in?

What did the scientist (that the team saved from prison) whisper to Tyler's character, Dax about the Defiant?

3.
Finally, we played (in my opinion the most exciting adventure/campaign) Dead in the Water.

The game took the team to the brink as they tried to save a sabotaged Shadow Raptor (A Secret Ops Rebel ship) from being pulled into a black hole and uncovering who betrayed them and why? It had two of the biggest battles that we have tried as a group. And both times the PC's escaped near death situations.

Fame brings problems.

While the team has been successful and have been a great help in the war against the Empire. The team's fame has brought about the attention of the Empire. A price is now out for their death or apprehension for capturing Hura Kogler, the daughter of the legendary Hyndis Kogler (a high ranking Imperial).

Trouble is coming... the only question is when?

What Now?

Currently the players have started the adventure called: Too Close.

I will update in a new post a more detailed version of the events that have taken place so far in that adventure.

What is this?

Welcome!

I decided that this might be a good place to put info on game times and updates to the story that is unfolding as we play Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG.

I will be updating the blog often through the summer and if you want to comment and keep up with what is happening you can come here.

Right now we will be on a short hiatus as we rest up from the school year. Gaming will continue sometime after June 11th.

So the first question is: When are you available the weekend of the 12-14 of June and when are you available to play the week of the 15-19?
